The Mono Lake Tufa State Natural Reserve is off the closure list!

Here is our posting from December 1, 2011, the day Mono Lake was removed from the closure list.

Mono Lake Committee members and Mono Lake fans near and far wrote letters and signed locally-placed petitions all summer, opposing closure and offering possible solutions. Over 4,000 letters and petition signatures were hand-delivered to decision makers in Sacramento.

To all of you who took the time to send a letter or sign a petition—thank you! Mono Lake’s protection depends on all of us, near and far, young and old, at Mono Lake and around the world. The Mono Lake Reserve is off the closure list thanks to your support and effort. Congratulations!
